Web Data Mashup Software

Mashup is a word from the area of web development. It implies combinations of things are integrated to form a new component. An application or a page from a website which mixes data or functions from external sources allowing it to create a new service is a mashup. This newly created service may be an unintended externality that was not a part of the original intent. Examples of an intended Software mashup are weather alert services that combine data from outside sources and consolidate it in one web presentation. An example of an unintended mashup is Google Earth which is now used to provide directions.
